We are looking to recruit 2 Supervisors offering 20 hours per week within our Children's services based in Kinning Park, Glasgow. You will be working day to day with a dedicated team to ensure the children who come into the service receive the best care and opportunity to express themselves and have fun through a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, and sensory play.
Hours and shift patterns:
The service operates Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and Tuesdays from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It is envisaged that the Supervisor post will include working some evenings and approximately 1.5 weekends in 4.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensure high-quality care and support for the people we support, meeting their individual needs.
2. Lead by example, offering supervision, coaching, and on-shift training to staff.
3. Guide staff to deliver a flexible, person-centred service for the people we support and their families.
4. Manage staffing rotas, adjusting as needed for changes in the people we support or staff requirements.
5. Oversee the implementation and regular updating of individual support plans.
6. Maintain accurate records and staff attendance, ensuring compliance with standards.
7. Support staff in their professional development and ensure they have the skills needed for person-centred care.
8. Support the delivery of fun, stimulating and creative sessions.
About you
You will have significant experience working directly with individuals who have complex care and communication needs. You’re a natural leader who can motivate and guide colleagues, always striving to deliver person-centred care and set a strong example of best practices in social care.
This role could be perfect for you if:
9. SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and be in a position to work towards an SVQ3 as determined by the SSSC
10. You are flexible, able to work across a range of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
11. You possess strong IT and organisational skills to manage office tasks efficiently.
12. You have a deep understanding and experience of person-centred practice.
13. You are skilled in coaching and mentoring colleagues to foster their development.
14. You have exceptional communication skills, especially in conveying complex and sensitive information.
15. Have creative and innovative ideas that overcome barriers to teaching, learning and assessment
