Housing Manager – 12 Month Contract
4 days office based / 1 day WFH | Car required
Our client is seeking an experienced Housing Manager to join their team on a 12 month contract, with an urgent start required due to a manager leaving at the end of April. This is a high level role suitable for a confident housing professional who can operate both strategically and operationally, supporting teams and managing complex issues.
The Role
The Housing Manager will provide leadership across tenancy management, estates, repairs liaison, and service improvement. The successful candidate will manage complex cases, support staff, and ensure the smooth running of operational services.
Key Responsibilities
• Tenancy & Resident Management
• Lead on complex tenancy issues, case escalations, and resident complaints
• Oversee rent collection, tenancy breaches, ASB case management, and serving of notices
• Provide guidance to operational staff dealing with tenancy and resident matters
• Handle formal complaints and ensure timely, professional responses
Estates & Contract Management
• Oversee estates and grounds maintenance services
• Manage and develop Service Level Agreements and contracts
• Monitor contract performance and drive service improvements
• Manage tenancy fraud investigations where required

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Strong background in housing management (operational and strategic)
Experience with complex tenancy issues and formal complaints
Excellent communication and staff support skills
Ability to work across multiple service areas with confidence
Local candidate with access to a car
Desired:
Level 4 in Housing (or equivalent)
Experience developing SLAs and overseeing estates services
The client values experience over formal qualifications. A master’s degree is not required.
Contract Details
Contract length: 12 months
Start date: ASAP
Working pattern: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home
Requirement: Must attend the office every other Friday
