About the Role
This role is a dynamic English Teacher with a focus on SEND education in a SEMH school. You will spark curiosity and love of learning through engaging lessons to motivate and challenge pupils with SEMH needs. You will personalise teaching to meet individual social, emotional and academic needs, supporting pupils to build resilience, confidence and literacy skills in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver teaching and learning in a rigorous, heartfelt and authentic style that supports all pupils wanting to thrive and succeed.
* Personalise lesson planning and delivery to meet the individual learning and pastoral needs of pupils, including EAL, SEND and other support.
* Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, families and external professionals to support pupils’ progress.
* Contribute to curriculum development, assessment strategies and school improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching English to SEMH or SEND learners, including pupils with challenging behaviour.
* Strong knowledge of curriculum frameworks, assessment, and SEMH best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, calm, patient and resilient.
* Passionate about inspiring curiosity and fostering a love of reading and writing.
