4-5 Months Contract with a Local Authority Summary This role involves leading the commercial and contractual aspects of the Council’s Housing Repairs & Maintenance service within the Housing Revenue Account. The primary focus is on driving cost efficiency, ensuring procurement compliance, and maintaining high service standards through effective contract management. Responsibilities Oversee budget planning, cost forecasting, and financial reporting for housing and maintenance teams. Manage variations, contract change control, price increases, and risks associated with Public Contract Regulations 2015. Track and manage budget versus actual spend, ensuring contract compliance on prices and conducting effective monthly invoice reviews. Support material and contractor cost management to ensure spending remains within budget. Lead material procurement in line with agreed tendering policies and procedures, ensuring authorization within Financial Regulations. Administer contracts, supporting in-house teams in managing external suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to KPIs. Essential Experience Required Proven commercial management experience within social housing or building maintenance. Substantial experience managing supply chains on a large scale with a proven track record of delivering value-for-money savings and service improvements. Essential Qualifications Required Ideally, applicants should be MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualified. Additional Information Working hours: 24 hours per week The role requires a driving license.
