We are seeking a highly organised and detail driven Configuration/Data Management engineer. In this role, you will support the control, accuracy, and governance of product configuration data across the business. You will work closely with engineering, quality, and operational teams to ensure that change processes are followed, documentation is maintained, and data integrity remains consistently high. Poynton has a strong heritage in the global Defence and Security markets. Our team specialises in the manufacture of a diverse range of high quality products, including Satellite Communication systems, Power Management Control solutions, Surveillance technologies and Counter IED equipment. This role is on a full time, permanent contract, working 37 hours flexitime across 4.5 days per week. Some of the main responsibilities include: Configuration Management: Develop and maintain Configuration Management (CM) plans and procedures Establish configuration baselines (functional, allocated, product) Control and track changes through formal change management processes Manage both internal and customer Change Requests (CRs), and deviations Ensure proper version control and document control procedures Data Management: Maintain document control systems and databases Manage technical documentation (BOMs, drawings, specifications, and Test procedures) Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and access controls Maintain data archives complying with both customer and compliance requirements. Liaise with Production Engineering, Operations, Quality, and IT teams For this role you will need: Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field Equivalent experience may be considered 3–5 years of experience in configuration management or data management Experience in regulated industries (Aerospace, Defence,) preferred Proficiency in using CAD models and BOM change control and management.
