We are looking for a registered childrens nurse to join a team of nurses who support a male teenage client in his home and the community. Our client is a medically complex young man who needs support around the clock to ensure his needs are met. Whilst our client is medically complex, his family and care team are very knowledgeable and will support you fully to integrate into the team and routine. He lives at home with his family and their pet dog, enjoys playing on his iPad, as well as with his trains and figures, and enjoys going out with his family as long as it isnt cold or wet! He mobilises with assistance and has a wheelchair for longer distances. His family home as an adapted room downstairs which is fit for his needs. What youll be working: A range of shifts are available to help support within the clients package of care; he has support from nursing staff almost all of the time and requires 1:1 care during the day and overnight. What youll be doing: Providing support to a teenage client in his home and in the community as necessary. Interacting with him, playing games and watching his iPad. Promoting independence where appropriate. Personal care Our client also has a variety of medical needs, including: A central venous line, IV medications and TPN. TPN training can be arranged and mum is fully TPN trained. An ileostomy Enteral feeds and medications Clinical observations - temperature, HR and SpO2 Multiple severe allergies for which he has an EpiPen What youll have: A current NMC Pin registration (Registered Childrens Nurse) A legal right to work in the UK Own vehicle with work insurance We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
