Job Title: Sales Estimator (Projects)

Hours of Work: 37 hours Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Estimator (PIB / Projects) to join our team at our Glenrothes facility, learning new skills and experiences while enhancing those already attained. The role demands accuracy, diligence, resilience and would suit a self‑motivated individual.
A market competitive salary will be offered depending on experience. Benefits of employment include 33 days of holiday per year on a pro‑rata basis (including public holidays), an employer pension contribution of 5% of salary and life assurance.
Overview
To be part of the sales team working to provide new and sustained sales growth. The individual will receive any relevant training and assume a range of duties that spans estimation of our Induction Bending (PIB) products and supports group growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Deal with customer and internal sales enquiries.
* Build and maintain relationships with customers, gaining a clear understanding of their business needs up to and including account management.
* Attend customer meetings where applicable.
* Create detailed proposal documents, submit them as part of a formal bidding process and follow up bids to closure.
* Negotiate on price, cost, delivery and specifications with buyers to achieve a sale.
* Sourcing of raw materials and services from suppliers to support client proposals.
* Formulate accurate ITT packages, project bids and general quotations, and follow up on quotations with clients to achieve a sale.
* Maintain internal sales logs and documents to ensure accurate reporting data for the Estimation/Proposals Manager’s monthly reports.
* Attend Monthly Sales meetings to present current enquiry activities, priorities, market intelligence and progress.
* Interpret Engineering Drawings and Material Take Offs.
* Apply commercial, contractual and technical awareness.
* Training and awareness of Visual Manufacturing System and how it operates.
* Support the Sales Manager with internal/external customer visits and company presentations as required.
* Conduct contract reviews and coordinate communication between Sales and Project Teams.
* Work with the Sales Team to create and achieve sales targets through analysis of customers, seeking new opportunities and leads.
* Liaise with other departments to provide customers with realistic delivery dates.
* Procure materials and services from suppliers to support client proposals.
* Support other members of the sales team to ensure efficiency during busy timeframes.
* Support ongoing projects in execution with Commercial/Variation work.
Desired Experience & Skills
* Experience in a manufacturing (cladding, welding and machining) background preferred.
* Experience with an Account Management system is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships remotely over the phone and face to face.
* Ability to prioritise and organise a high-volume workload.
* Proficiency in using all Microsoft packages.
* Experience in a similar manufacturing background would be an advantage.
