Job overview
Are you an experienced pharmacy technician with a strong desire to develop and promote the use of information technology (IT) and digital transformation across the Trust?
If you are enthusiastic and understand the benefits of technology, and want to be a crucial part of our team, we would like to hear from you.
This role offers a pharmacy technician with IT and operational skills the opportunity to innovate and further develop technology and informatics to support our digital agenda and quality improvement initiatives.
We are committed to balancing high-quality service delivery with professional development, offering a supportive and training-focused environment within our friendly team.
Main duties of the job
You will lead the maintenance of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system as the system administrator. Responsibilities include routine updates, software installation, and testing of system versions.
You will provide expert support in developing, implementing, and upgrading the Trust-wide EPMA system, leveraging your extensive experience as a pharmacy technician with EPMA expertise to manage daily operations.
The role includes maintaining other digital systems within pharmacy, participating in new system implementations, and supporting staff training across the Trust.
Working for our organisation
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King's Lynn offers a beautiful coastline and charming villages. The medieval port town features interesting architecture.
We provide a wide range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, with over 4,000 staff and volunteers, and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some services are provided in community facilities, and we collaborate with neighboring hospitals for tertiary care.
In February 2022, the Care Quality Commission rated us 'Good' in all inspected services, and we are progressing out of the recovery support system.
We are part of the New Hospital Programme, planning a new Queen Elizabeth Hospital to serve our community better.
