We are calling all midwives who want to be involved in exciting developments at Bolton. In 2026, we will open a newly renovated unit, a new alongside birth centre, and a new maternity triage. Bolton, with around 6,000 births per year, is the 'Supercentre' for the North West, providing high-quality, compassionate care to women in Bolton, Bury, Salford, and beyond. Recent improvements have enhanced our focus on safe and compassionate care, creating opportunities for learning, development, and career expansion.
Our current initiatives include:
1. Offering four choices of birth environment
2. Developing a continuity of carer model
3. Developing a caseloading team
4. Providing high-quality care to high-risk women
5. Working towards a transitional care service
6. Enhancing our perinatal mental health service for a holistic approach to women with mental health needs
