About the Role
Compass Associates is delighted to partner with one of the UK’s most respected private hospital groups in the search for a Pharmacy Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop pharmacy services across the hospital, managing a skilled and established team while driving clinical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
As Pharmacy Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for medicines management across the hospital, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across ICU/HDU, Pre-Assessment, Outpatients, Wards, Theatres, and Oncology, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading, motivating, and developing the pharmacy team through strong, visible leadership
* Ensuring robust medicines optimisation policies, procedures, and governance are embedded across all clinical areas
* Overseeing pharmaceutical procurement, stock control, and cost-effective medicines use
* Acting as Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead, ensuring compliance with current guidance to reduce hospital-acquired infections
* Supporting daily ward rounds, medication reconciliation, patient counselling, and discharge planning
* Leading the implementation of medication safety alerts, drug recalls, and controlled drug governance
* Managing incidents, errors, and complaints in line with organisational and regulatory frameworks
* Delivering medicines-focused education and supporting the development of wider healthcare teams
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a confident and resilient leader with excellent clinical judgement and communication skills. You will be comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
You will have:
* Registration as a qualified Pharmacist with substantial post-registration experience
* Proven management experience within a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
* A strong background in pharmacy operations and service development
* The ability to influence, make sound decisions, and lead teams through change
* A passion for delivering outstanding patient care in a demanding yet rewarding environment
