The School of Health, Science and Society is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lecturer /Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation to join our growing academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of high-quality, interprofessional clinical skills education across a range of allied health and healthcare programmes.
Working closely with the Senior Lecturer for Simulation / Skills in Nursing & Midwifery, you will help shape the School's approach to simulation and professional competency development. You will lead on designing and delivering innovative learning experiences using simulation, immersive technology, and blended learning approaches that support student progression and clinical readiness.
The successful candidate will also contribute to curriculum development, assessment, specific to embedding simulation and quality assurance activities, as well as research and enterprise initiatives that align with the School's strategic aims. Alongside the Simulation Lead in Nursing and Midwifery you'll have the opportunity to lead on the continued development and evaluation of simulation-based learning as a component of placement education across allied health professions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver simulation-based education across pre and post registration and CPD programmes.
* Contribute to curriculum design and assessment aligned with professional and clinical competencies.
* Support student learning and development in clinical and interprofessional contexts.
* Undertake research and enterprise linked to simulation and aligned to your expertise.
* Support junior academic staff and the wider school to upskill in terms of simulated learning and embedding relevant technologies across programmes.
About You
We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic educator who is:
* A registered professional (e.g., HCPC-registered).
* Educated to master's level (or working towards), with a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to obtain / HEA Fellowship.
* Experienced in delivering simulation or clinical skills education in academic or practice-based settings.
* Committed to enhancing student experience through innovative and inclusive teaching.
