Buyer – Residential & Commercial Construction

I'm working with an established main contractor who are looking to strengthen their procurement team following the planned relocation of a long‑serving Buyer. This is a key hire within the business.
The Role
* Procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages across residential and commercial projects
* Obtaining and analysing supplier quotations
* Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Working closely with commercial and operational teams to support project delivery
* Assisting with supply chain management and procurement strategy
* Supporting and mentoring a junior Buyer
* Office‑based in High Wycombe with some flexibility to work from home
What they’re looking for
* Buyer or Senior Buyer experience within a construction environment
* Main contractor experience preferred
* Residential and/or commercial project exposure
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Organised, commercially aware and proactive
* Comfortable working within a collaborative, long‑serving team

Salary guide up to £65,000 depending on experience.
