Quality Inspector
General Summary
The Quality Inspector will conduct the inspection of all pump component parts to the standards explained in the Bill of Materials.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Inspection and recording of component dimensions in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications for each pump component.
* Recording and documenting of component deficiencies via the NCR system.
* Ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings for dimensional and visual acceptance.
Education and Experience
* Mechanical fitter with at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
* Experience using a wide variety of metrology equipment; basic computer knowledge and good communication skills.
* Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent SVQ qualification.
* Manufacturing experience with HS&E awareness.
* Working knowledge of CMMs (e.g., FARO, Ferranti) and understanding of NDE processes and qualifications including ASME Level 1 & 2 and PCN Level 2 – Visual Inspection for welding is an advantage.

Physical Demands
* Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work).
* Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
* Required daily to use hands and fingers and arms to reach (to operate a computer and telephone).
* Required occasionally to lift and/or move objects that are light to moderate.
* Required occasionally to travel (usually by air or road so may be required to sit for extended periods).
Working Conditions
* Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers).
* Ability to work in an open planned office or individual office.
* Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
* Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods.
