An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Facilities Management and Operational Engineering to support a diverse portfolio of commercial properties across London.
This is a varied consultancy role combining:
1. Building services engineering
2. Client advisory
3. Project management
4. Site inspections
5. Maintenance strategy
6. Design & specification work
The position offers a balance of office, hybrid, and site-based work with opportunities to influence projects from concept through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Mechanical & electrical maintenance support
✅ Condition surveys and technical audits
✅ Design, specification & project delivery
✅ FM maintenance contract tendering
✅ Plantroom inspections and compliance reviews
✅ Contractor and specialist coordination
✅ Budgeting advice and troubleshooting support
✅ Client relationship management
✅ Supporting junior engineers and team development
Ideal Candidate
✔ 10+ years’ experience in Building Services Engineering
✔ Strong mechanical design background
✔ Experience within FM / operational engineering environments
✔ Excellent technical problem-solving ability
✔ Confident client-facing communication skills
✔ Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
✔ Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
Experience managing hard FM maintenance contracts
