Lecturer in Media Studies
Capital City College is seeking a passionate and skilled Media Studies Lecturer to join our dynamic London-based team. This is a part‑time (0.8 FTE) permanent position.
About the Role
As a Lecturer in Media Studies, you will deliver high‑quality teaching, contribute to curriculum development, and support students through both academic and pastoral guidance. You will lead the Media Studies department, overseeing lesson planning, assessment, field‑trip arrangements, and professional teaching material. You will work closely with the Curriculum Leader to monitor student progress, attendance and retention, and support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and innovative lessons to Year 12 and Year 13 students.
* Plan and prepare the media curriculum, ensuring excellent delivery.
* Track student progress, monitor attendance and retention, and uphold teaching standards.
* Lead and collaborate with the media team, organising field trips, managing exam entries and assessments.
* Build partnerships with external institutions and support the development of teaching materials.
* Contribute to curriculum reviews and data analysis to enhance quality.
About You
We're looking for a passionate and committed individual with:
* Strong knowledge of A‑level Media Studies.
* Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to inclusive, learner‑focused teaching.
* A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one).
