About the role

Booker Group is recruiting for a Technical Standards and Compliance Controller. This is a senior role responsible for creating and maintaining technical policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with legislative, company standards, and requirements aligned with Tesco. The role directly manages the technical team and our quality assurance team.

You will be responsible for

* Ensuring team compliance with health & safety, legal standards, and company procedures.
* Ensuring team understands their roles, responsibilities, and expected behaviors.
* Identifying best practices and implementing improvements.
* Networking externally to create mutually beneficial opportunities for business and personal development.
* Keeping up to date with technical legislation and compliance to ensure policies are current.
* Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance brand perception.
* Maintaining systems and procedures to comply with legal requirements.
* Delivering an internal audit schedule and mitigating business risks.
* Maintaining a framework for technical due diligence reporting.
* Promoting customer satisfaction within the team and maintaining service standards.
* Using customer feedback to improve product quality and value.
* Building professional relationships and improving customer satisfaction.
* Completing work on time without compromising standards.
* Providing analysis, reports, and recommendations for decision-making.
* Supporting the wider technical team and ensuring consistent customer service.
* Formulating policies reflecting customer concerns.
* Ensuring supplier competency and challenging suppliers for product safety and legality.
* Managing product testing and benchmarking to mitigate consumer risk.
* Obtaining cost-effective third-party solutions as needed.
* Providing solutions and escalating risks appropriately.
* Supporting the wider business to ensure supplier competency.

You will need
