The Opportunity
I'm currently partnering with a well-established main contractor in Lincolnshire who is looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the addition of an experienced Estimator.
With a healthy pipeline of secured and upcoming projects, this role offers long-term stability alongside the opportunity to play a key part in shaping future business wins. The company delivers a variety of projects typically valued between £500k and £5m, across multiple sectors via competitive tenders, frameworks, and their own developments.
You'll be joining a collaborative and experienced team, where your input will genuinely be valued and you'll have the autonomy to influence how projects are approached and priced.
The Role
As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, supporting the business in securing new work.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing detailed cost estimates from first principles for a range of construction projects
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules
Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Supporting bid submissions and contributing to tender strategy
Working closely with the commercial and operational teams throughout the pre-construction phase
Maintaining and developing strong supply chain relationships
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
Experience pricing projects within the £500k - £5m range (desirable)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders
Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Full UK driving licence
