Overview

Join to apply for the Recruitment Officer - FTC role at Liverpool City Council.

This role is a fixed-term position within the Recruitment team. The role is to support the end-to-end recruitment process, provide guidance on adverts and selection methods, and manage recruitment documentation and pre-employment checks.


About the role

* The Recruitment officer role will provide recruitment advice, guidance and support to applicants and managers in accordance with Council policies and procedures, employment legislation, and HR best practice.
* Provide advice and guidance to ensure vacancies are advertised through appropriate channels (e.g., social media, partner agencies, external professional websites) and via our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
* With training, competently operate and advise on internal recruitment and applicant tracking systems, HR/Payroll systems and other suppliers.
* Facilitate, review and verify eligibility to work documentation, references, DBS applications, and medical screening documentation for new employees/workers.
* Represent the Council at job fairs and employment events to promote opportunities to a diverse range of candidates.
* Work as part of a busy team with a flexible and agile approach to day-to-day work and prioritisation of vacancies to meet deadlines.
* Act as a Brand ambassador for the Council and engage with communities, schools and universities at events.


About you

* You will have an HR/Recruitment qualification or relevant experience in recruitment or talent acquisition (in-house or agency).
* Demonstrable experience of providing high-quality customer service in a busy, fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of end-to-end recruitment processes including vetting and barring checks.
* Experience using applicant tracking or e-recruitment systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with managers at all levels.
* Good ICT skills with Microsoft Office and familiarity with AI tools.
* You will be a brand ambassador for the Council in all you do.

This role is fixed term for the purpose of covering a secondment within the service and will end 11 February 2027.
