Job Description
A great opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join their high-performing manufacturing site.
This is a genuine development role, designed for someone early in their engineering career who wants hands-on experience, structured training and a clear pathway to becoming a fully competent multi-skilled maintenance engineer.
You’ll be working alongside experienced engineers on a fast-paced production environment, learning how to fault-find, maintain and improve automated machinery while building long-term career security in a stable manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support planned and reactive maintenance activities across production machinery
* Assist with fault finding on electrical systems, including control panels, sensors, motors and drives, boilers etc
* Carry out basic electrical repairs under supervision
* Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals
* Support breakdown response to minimise downtime
* Assist with continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to health & safety standards at all times
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
* Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, BTEC, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or similar)
* Strong interest in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
* Willingness to learn, take feedback and develop technical ability
* Reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working shifts
* Any exposure to maintenance or manufacturing environments
* Basic understanding of PLCs or automated equipment
* Mechanical awareness or interest in becoming multi-skilled
* Attitude and commitment are more important than experience.
* Full training will be provided
