Mission: OSI Maritime Systems are recruiting a System Engineer to work on the design and development of their Integrated Mission Management System (IMMS). The Systems Engineer plays a key role throughout the life cycle of the IMMS product development from analysis of the operational need, requirements elicitation through systems design, development, integration, V&V, delivery and support. Responsibilities: Supports the Mission Solution functional description; defining the functional solution needs Support the definition of IMMS product improvements based on customer needs and personal experience and expertise Support definition of the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and associated artefacts to facilitate development of product Functional Design Analysis of the CONOPS, generating IMMS system requirements. Performs IMMS solution definition unaided; creating the most suitable sensor, effector, functionality combination Perform market analysis unaided of full MMS solutions and MMS subsystems Develops system designs, defines systems architecture, defines interfaces and specification, performs trade-studies and documents the design. Performs requirement analysis, traceability and maintenance of requirements unaided Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system Supports the development of design concepts and generates technical proposal in response to Request for Quotation (RFQ) Attends and participates in customer design reviews and acceptance events May participate in system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer facilities Writes acceptance test procedures Manages scope of work, schedules work, estimates effort and costs, and identifies technical risks; effectively communicates status on a regular basis to management Decision Making: Accountable for defining and documenting requirements, requirement analysis, design decisions related to the IMMS technical solution and verification and validation Responsible authority on the release of IMMS Technical Documentation Applies judgment and makes decisions to solve routine or complex issues Considerable judgment necessary in handling sensitive, confidential and/or commercial information Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or Physics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience Minimum 4 years’ engineering experience in complex system design and development, ideally on an IMMS; experience in defence or government domain preferably in the maritime sector. Strong knowledge of tactical sensors or systems, especially those used on smaller vessels, OPVs, FACs etc. A proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects, with an excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices; Knowledge of security, safety engineering and/or human factors engineering would be an asset. Good working experience in system design and architecture using MBSE, ideally SparxEA; knowledge of network, client/server and software architecture would be an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills; Eligible to obtain and maintain a location relevant security clearance Willingness and ability to travel
