Monarch Education are working in partnership with a client school in the Bury, area of Greater Manchester who are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to start in October 2025. The school are a leading SEMH school which has been purpose built with state-of-the-art facilities. It provides a safe learning environment for those with an autism spectrum condition (ASC), who also face other challenges such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and attachment disorder (AD). They are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome behavioural challenges and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with experienced staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment that empowers pupils to succeed. Start date: October 2025 Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 15:30 Pay: £88-£106 per day Key Responsibilities: Provide one to one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours. Encourage a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, social workers and other support staff/multi-agency workers to create individualised behaviour support plans. Monitor and document pupil progress and behaviour incidents. Offer emotional support and mentorship to pupils, helping them build resilience and self-esteem. Assist in classroom activities and ensure pupils are engaged in their learning. Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on best practices in behaviour support. Qualifications: Minimum of GCSE level; a relevant degree or certification in education, youth work, psychology, or a related field is desirable. Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs is highly desirable. Team Teach/MAPA or related de-escalation qualifications are desirable.
