Full-Time Maths Teacher – Secondary School in Portsmouth, Hampshire GSL Education are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This full-time position is set to begin in September or October 2025, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful probation period. The school welcomes applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), experienced educators, and unqualified teachers with a strong background in Mathematics. Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher: Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Mathematics that promote critical thinking and problem-solving. Plan and implement effective schemes of work that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence. Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking school culture. Participate in extracurricular activities and school events related to Mathematics and STEM. Promote the importance of numeracy, analytical thinking, and resilience in students’ academic and personal development. Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in Mathematics education. Required Qualifications for a Maths Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (applications from unqualified teachers with strong subject knowledge are welcome). A genuine passion for Mathematics and education. Experience teaching Maths at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply). Ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. A commitment to student achievement, well-being, and continuous improvement. A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues. An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
