As a General Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance tasks, supporting site operations, and helping to maintain high engineering and safety standards. You will report to the Senior Day Shift Technician and work under the direction of the Contract Manager. As a General Maintenance Operative you'll: Carry out general maintenance tasks, site repairs, and routine checks of areas and plant rooms Diagnose faults and complete repairs within your technical capability Assist with work order prioritisation and liaise with the Helpdesk and end users Escort and oversee subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to standard Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety requirements, including RAMS, LOTO, and safe systems of work Support site operations and assist with events when required Maintain accurate records of work completed, time taken, and materials used Build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and contractors Participate in training and development to maintain competency Be mindful of sustainability and the impact of technical services delivery What we're looking for: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant mechanical maintenance or water hygiene discipline G3 qualification desirable Approximately 2 years’ relevant maintenance experience Good working knowledge of engineering compliance and best practice Ability to work independently, safely, and to agreed timelines IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems Understanding of Helpdesk procedures and workflows Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach Why Sodexo? : Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
