Management Accountant (FTC Maternity Cover)

Job purpose:

Janes are looking for an ambitious Management Accountant to provide accuracy, reliability and efficiency to our Financial Reporting team. Supporting the Financial Reporting lead the role will help drive our monthly reporting process by analysing financial data for completeness and correctness, preparing and processing accounting journals and performing robust reconciliations. They will also be a key contributor to our annual statutory reporting requirements across the Group and our ongoing tax compliance.

The ideal candidate must able to work confidently with numbers and display rigorous attention to detail, communicating clearly and confidently to colleagues where errors have been identified and working collaboratively to improve processes. They must be familiar with core accounting principles and keen to broaden and strengthen that knowledge. Great organisation skills are a prerequisite to help manage delivery deadlines.

The role is an 18-months Fixed Term Contract to cover a maternity leave.

How you will contribute at Janes:

* Ensure accurate and timely month-end close by executing key tasks including invoice review for prepayment and CAPEX, preparation and processing of journals (e.g. payroll, accruals, Devcap) across subsidiaries and currencies to ensure correct cost centre allocation and clear calculation support, delivery of monthly profit and loss variance analysis, and handling of information queries.
* Coordinating the work of two junior finance team members including ongoing training requirements.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and identify resolutions.
* Work alongside the Head of Financial Reporting during interim and year-end audits; prioritise and delegate information requests, and manage auditors’ expectations to ensure the audit completion deadline is met.
* Prepare Group and UK entity financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UKGAAP.
* Ensure all financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with accounting standards.
* Prepare weekly cash reports across all bank accounts, including detailed analysis and commentary.
* Managing VAT/local tax information provision to tax advisors across Group (UK, US, Singapore, Netherlands), meeting deadlines and responding to queries. Assist with Corporation tax return preparation across Group.
* Maintain and improve internal controls and processes.
* Undertake ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

The ideal skills and experience for this role are:

* Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Demonstrated experience in month-end close and reporting, audit support, and preparation of financial statements.
* Familiarity with accounting systems (NetSuite desirable).
* Strong ability to prioritise conflicting requests and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
* Detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to develop professionally.
* 27 days of annual leave
