We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Transportation team based in Brixworth. This role is for our highly esteemed maintenance works contract supporting North & West Northamptonshire council roads network. Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Hours: 40 hours per week
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the Commercial team in all aspects of cost control, subcontract management, and change management. Your responsibilities will include estimating target prices, negotiating with subcontractors, managing additional works and liabilities, CVRs, interim assessments, final accounts, contractual documentation, and mentoring junior staff.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets for highway projects, conducting cost forecasting and reporting, and ensuring projects stay within budget.
Creating and reviewing contract documents, overseeing subcontractor agreements, and maintaining contractual compliance.
Organising monthly financial reports, conducting financial reviews, and providing insights and recommendations to management.
Assessing project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and maintaining an up-to-date risk register.
Managing subcontractor onboarding and drafting subcontract orders.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you:
Can lead and motivate a team, with a thorough understanding of construction contracts, law, and regulations.
Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with MRICS or equivalent qualification, and proven experience in cost management, contract administration, and risk management.
Can influence, negotiate, and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
