This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong technical expertise and experience managing end-to-end payroll processes within a bureau environment.The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of payroll clients, overseeing payroll operations from start to finish, including the administration of workplace pension schemes and client liaison responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging a portfolio of payroll clients from start to finishProcessing payrolls across a variety of workplace pension schemesHandling BACS payments for clientsLiaising directly with HM Revenue & CustomsSetting up new payroll clients and schemesCompleting advanced payroll duties including pension scheme setup, PAYE scheme closures, and payroll analysisResponding to payroll-related queries from clients, employees, managers, and internal team membersAssisting with the training and development of Payroll AdministratorsMaintaining payroll records, files, and departmental databasesSupporting the wider payroll team with ad hoc administrative and analytical tasksProducing spreadsheet and document-based analysis where requiredProviding recommendations to management regarding payroll processes and client proceduresAssisting with organisational and operational tasks within the departmentCandidate RequirementsPrevious experience within a payroll bureau environment (essential)Experience using BrightPay payroll softwareStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectivelyAbility to work independently and perform well under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyProfessional and approachable manner when dealing with clients and colleaguesWillingness to learn and develop new skillsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamGood literacy and numeracy skillsGCSE Maths and English (Grade AC or equivalent)CIPP qualifications are desirable but not essential
