Overview
This role supports our Dental Referral Co-ordinator in the day-to-day operations of the Dental Referrals team within the Oxfordshire Community Dental Service. The post holder will help ensure the smooth and efficient processing of referrals and will handle queries from patients, carers and professionals. Administrative tasks to support the wider service, including our Senior Management Team, are also part of this role. In addition, you may provide cover as a dental receptionist across our Dental Clinics to accommodate leave, sickness or other absences, with adaptability being key to maintaining high service standards.
Responsibilities
* Support the Dental Referral Co-ordinator in daily operations of the Dental Referrals team.
* Ensure smooth and efficient processing of referrals and respond to various queries from patients, carers and professionals.
* Manage administrative tasks to support the wider service and Senior Management Team.
* Provide cover as a dental receptionist across Dental Clinics as required (to accommodate leave, sickness, or other absences).
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong administrative and reception experience, including use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and dental software.
* Skilled at managing multiple priorities (calls, patients, admin duties) while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
* Excellent communication and telephone manner, with experience interacting with patients (including those with additional needs).
* Team player with flexibility, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
* Previous NHS and dental environment experience, including handling cash and banking procedures.
