We are working with a well-established and highly regarded Yorkshire law firm to recruit a Private Client Solicitor / Probate Executive for its York office on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity sits within a supportive and experienced Private Client team and would suit either a newly qualified solicitor with prior experience in Wills and Probate or an established Solicitor/Executive looking to take the next step in their career. You will manage a varied caseload of private client matters and will benefit from working alongside knowledgeable colleagues in a collaborative, people-focused environment. The Role You will be responsible for handling a broad range of private client work, including: Wills Lasting Powers of Attorney Probate and estate administration The role requires a high standard of client care, strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to case management, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently while maintaining excellent service standards. Key Responsibilities Run a caseload of private client matters from initial instruction through to completion Draft Wills and advise clients on estate planning matters Prepare and manage applications for Powers of Attorney Handle the administration of estates, including probate matters Respond to new client enquiries and provide clear, practical advice Support other fee earners within the Private Client team as required Draft costs and manage billing, ensuring recovery of monies due Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge and comply with internal procedures and regulatory requirements Essential Skills & Experience 3 years’ experience in Wills and Probate (all levels of PQE considered) Strong client care skills with a professional and approachable manner Ability to deal confidently with technical matters and explain complex issues clearly to clients Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confident IT skills and the ability to adapt to case management systems Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Additional Requirements Flexible, “can-do” attitude, including willingness to travel to nearby offices when required Full UK driving licence Why Apply?
