MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager carries out a wide range of responsibilities that are crucial for the success of the business and the main responsibilities are:
* Identifying New Business Opportunities: Proactively seek out new markets, clients, partnerships, or product and service offerings. Analyze industry trends and market dynamics to identify potential growth areas.
* Building Relationships with Clients: Develop strong relationships with new clients by understanding their needs and proposing tailored solutions. Maintain and nurture existing client relationships to ensure long-term satisfaction. Ensures that the customer journey is fulfilled by working with any member of the team so that the product arrives on time and in full.
* Sales and Product Pitching: Pitch company goods and services to both new and existing clients. Present compelling proposals that address client needs and demonstrate value.
* Industry Networking: Attend conferences, events, and industry gatherings to build relationships with industry partners. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
* Sales Forecasting and Achievement: Create sales forecasts and actively work towards achieving them. Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet revenue targets.
* Product Knowledge and Positioning: Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products and services. Stay informed about competitors’ offerings and industry positioning.
* Team Management and Collaboration: Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure requirements are met. Work with marketing to ensure all offerings are open and transparent on the social media channels and websites.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
To perform this role the post holder must have a background in commercial and technical sales and fulfil the below requirements:
* A degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field or deemed as qualified by experience.
* Previous experience in business development or client relationship management experience is required.
* Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills.
* Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure, if needed.
* Possession of problem solving and organisational skills in order to address challenges and find innovative solutions.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational abilities to handle various tasks simultaneously.
* Must be able to think strategically in order to identify growth opportunities.
* Great networking abilities is a must in order to build and maintain relationships with customers stakeholders.
