We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing and Welfare Officer on behalf of our client. This role is a back-fill post initially for 3 months, with the potential for extension. Main Responsibilities: Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing options service to applicants. Conduct thorough homelessness assessments and make decisions under Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996. Evaluate evidence and determine eligibility and statutory duties owed to homeless applicants. Identify the need for, and arrange, emergency temporary accommodation when required. Negotiate with landlords, family members, and other agencies (statutory & non-statutory) to secure housing solutions. Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records. Ensure full compliance with housing legislation, policy, and best practice. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a homelessness or housing options officer role. In-depth understanding of Part 6 & Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996. Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Comfortable working in a blended working environment and attending the Civic Centre as required. Interested?
