Common Thread have an exciting opportunity for an experienced House Manager to join us at our service near Abington. We are committed to providing safe, nurturing and supportive homes where children and young people can grow and recover from their experiences.
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced House Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of one of our residential homes. This is a key leadership role, responsible for creating a stable, safe and caring environment for the young people in our care, while supporting and developing a team of Therapeutic Support workers.
Key aspects include:
* To provide day-to-day management to the team of Therapeutic Support Workers within the House, including supporting professional development through appraisals, development plans and mentoring.
* To motivate and engage the team of Therapeutic Support Workers to create an environment in which the individual, physical and emotional needs of our young people are met.
* Financial management and accountability for the service budget.
* Ensure the delivery of the highest standards of individual care planning for our young people and their families.
* Reporting to the Care Inspectorate in a timely manner.
* Completion and maintenance of the Scottish Social Services Council qualification criteria for professional registration, and to support and monitor the care teams’ compliance with this core requirement.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within residential care or relevant field
* Relevant professional qualifications in Social Work/Social Care. SVQ level 4 Social Services (Children and Young People), SVQ Leadership and Management for Care Services Level 4 are desirable.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
* A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
* Ability to manage a team with empathy and professionalism
* Ability to work flexibly participating in sleep over shifts and on call which will involve some weekend working.
* Full UK driving license
