Overview
We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract, reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader. You'll be responsible for accurately processing invoices for payment, reconciling supplier accounts and resolving any problems preventing invoice payment. You'll work with external suppliers and internal Screwfix colleagues to ensure invoices are processed in line with our compliance & payment terms.

Responsibilities
9. Attend daily huddle held by Team Leader
10. Invoice matching across all channels.
11. Full statement reconciliations with full back up and detailed plan for query resolution.
12. Resolve and action all queries from our Internal Query Desk
13. Complete trackers and raise Debit Notes for all channels.
14. Monitor and professional & efficiently resolve queries from our Mailboxes
15. Run payment runs in our financially system
16. Run Financial reports and analyse for trends / problem solving
17. Process payments for BACS, Sepa & Priority through HSBC all the way to authorisation
18. Highlight and flag risk to management and key stake holders in a timely and professional manner being mindful of the customer and Business requirements
19. Process improvements, not just doing ‘what we have always done’
20. Show communication skills across Email/Phone and in Meetings
Qualifications
21. Experience in an Accounts Payable role with knowledge of key Financials
22. Competent with large volumes of data
23. Competent user of Microsoft Excel & Access
24. Remain adaptable at all teams
25. Team player with self-motivation and a hunger for drive
26. Ability to work under pressure
27. Ability to multitask & keep things simple
28. Communication – able to say no when appropriate
