Offer description

The role:

1. Primarily engaged with larger clients requiring complex financial reporting.
2. Accountable for preparing management accounts and VAT returns, ensuring all reporting deadlines are consistently met.
3. Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to a standard suitable for year-end reporting.
4. Contribute to the development of budgeting and forecasting models, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow projections.
5. Build a strong understanding of client-specific software applications and identify additional tools that may enhance their business operations.
6. Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including margin analysis and departmental reporting.
7. Provide insightful commentary on key financial variances.
8. Play an active role in software implementation projects, including Xero migrations, user training/support, and process optimisation for other accounting systems.
9. Uphold and implement standardised processes and procedures across the department.
10. Champion the adoption of best practices in technology usage within the team.
11. Participate in and contribute to regular departmental meetings.
12. Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring all compliance and reporting deadlines are met.
13. Delegate tasks to junior team members, providing appropriate oversight and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy.
14. Offer support, coaching, and guidance to less experienced colleagues to aid their development.
15. Proactively manage your own workload, communicating progress updates and flagging any concerns regarding deadlines, job budgets, or capacity issues in a timely manner.
16. Keep the departmental work planner up to date with scheduled absences and potential workload conflicts.
17. Provide constructive and timely feedback within the team to support continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience Required:

18. Accuracy and attention to detail
19. Professional and organised approach to work
20. Effective time management ability priories and manage workload to meet deadlines
21. Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
22. Good written and verbal communication skills
23. Flexible approach
24. Have previous experience of Management Accounts preparation.
25. Ideally, previous experience of Xero, Sage and other accounting software.
26. Ideally, have year-end preparation experience.
27. AAT (or equivalent)
28. ACA or ACCA or CIMA qualification
