As a member of the Purchase to Pay and eCommerce team, the Scan4Safety assistant will support with the daily delivery of Scan4Safety activities, ensuring best practice and monitoring of core principles.
The post covers a range of tasks, some of which require the exercise of initiative. Operating within broad procedural guidelines and working to preset timetables, the objective of the post holder is to support the Trusts Scan4Safety program and the upkeep and maintenance of inventory management systems and point of care systems.
General support and maintenance of the Scan4Safet service across the Trust and Procurement department, providing internal support to clinical stakeholders for Point of Care scanning and troubleshooting requirements. Technical support for scanning consumables and implantable devices in procedural areas, ensuring correct information is scanned to patient record and ensuring accurate tracking of procedures.
Liaising with Catalogue team to ensure products are up to date and managed using GS1 principles as well as advocating GS1 best practice for management of core enablers. Assist with training and guidance for clinical colleagues in relation to best practice.
To help identify Scan4Safty champions in the clinical teams, support queries and training needs where required. To attend Theatre training days to encourage wider participation in the S4S program and use of IMS technologies.
Provide a first port of call for all issues relating to Point of Care scanning and resolving any issues as result of scanning practices in clinical/procedural areas, post holder may be required to be in attendance for some procedures to ensure Point of Care scanning is upheld.
