The Role
As a Senior Future Skills Lead, you will shape Vanquis’s workforce for the future. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Leadership, Culture and Engagement, you’ll lead the development of strategies and learning solutions to build critical capabilities such as data literacy, digital fluency and adaptive thinking. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and external partners to deliver blended learning programmes and ensure future-focused skills and competencies support sustainable performance and growth alongside apprenticeship strategies and talent frameworks. You will focus on performance measurement, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement to keep Vanquis skilled, agile and future-ready.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of Vanquis’s future skills strategy by identifying emerging capability needs through skills gap analysis, workforce planning and monitoring industry and technological trends.
* Design and deliver innovative, blended learning programmes focused on future-critical skills—such as data literacy, digital fluency and adaptive thinking—by partnering with internal and external providers to meet diverse learning needs.
* Collaborate with senior leaders, business managers and People partners to align future skills development with strategic priorities and diagnose capability needs across the organisation.
* Build partnerships with training providers and industry bodies; lead internal campaigns to engage colleagues in development and advise on future skills and workforce transformation.
* Establish evaluation frameworks to measure impact and use data to refine learning programmes and inform strategic decisions.
* Lead the design and delivery of technical skills programmes, leadership development initiatives and bespoke business learning aligned to career frameworks and talent strategies.
* Develop content including competency frameworks, team interventions, webinars and programmes that support Talent Acquisition and strategic priorities.
* Lead the organisation-wide apprenticeship strategy and ensure alignment with business needs and integration into early careers and leadership pathways.
* Oversee apprenticeship levy management, provider performance and programme reviews for value and compliance with SLAs.
What We’re Looking For
* Deep subject matter expertise in future skills strategy, technical capability development and best-practice learning solutions.
* Experience in designing and delivering impactful L&D programmes, including competency frameworks and leadership development.
* Proven ability to manage apprenticeship programmes with understanding of government schemes and levy optimisation.
* Proficiency with learning technologies and a continuous improvement mindset.
* Strong relationships across the organisation with excellent communication, emotional intelligence and commercial awareness.
* Accredited in Insights Discovery; ability to apply behavioural insights is beneficial.
* Experience working in a regulated environment is beneficial.
