The Mechanical Safety Engineer role within the Product Safety department at the Uxbridge site. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of aerospace product portfolios through investigations, leading to corrective and proactive improvements of designs and processes.
This includes generating design concepts in line with regulatory and customer requirements, engineering specifications, international and military standards, and company standards. You will also produce commercially viable product definition information (PDI), including 3D models, detailed, and assembly engineering drawings.
Effective workload planning, technical calculations, report generation, design reviews, and presentations are essential to support design development. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal design solutions.
Mentoring and training junior personnel may also be part of the role, depending on your skills and experience.

You will have
A successful Mechanical Safety Engineer will possess a mix of the following:
* IMechE accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree, Aerospace Engineering Degree, or equivalent
* 1st or 2.1 from Russell Group/Redbrick University (desirable)
* Experience in generating requirements, technical evaluations, and trade studies
* Proficiency in hand calculations for engineering justifications
* Knowledge of finite element analysis software
* Understanding of GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standards
* Significant expertise in design for assembly and manufacture
* Design experience in aerospace/defence, e.g., ISO 15288 (preferable)
