Job Description:
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
To increase the capacity of the Primary Care Pharmacy Team, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist to join the team in Aviemore. We are keen to hear from individuals interested in part-time or full-time work. Flexi-working options are available.
This role offers the chance to support the delivery of the primary care clinical pharmacy service. You will join an established pharmacy team responsible for providing clinical pharmacy and medicines management in various primary care settings.
The role involves collaborating with GP Practices as part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize the safe, quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective use of medicines. The role of the Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist is evolving into a clinical, patient-facing position in healthcare and domiciliary settings.
NHS Highland Pharmacy Teams are known for innovative practices and continuous development of pharmacy roles. Training, education, and personal development are priorities, with opportunities for further training as the service and role develop.
Applicants should have relevant post-registration pharmacy practice experience, sound clinical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good IT skills. A Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent is required, along with registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. A postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is preferred. Ideally, candidates will be independent prescribers or willing to work towards this qualification.
The position involves travel; therefore, a full, current driving license and the use of a personal vehicle are essential.
