Overview
GPMutual, Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom. Position: Pressure Equipment Inspector. Location: Field based in North West. Job type: Full-time, Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm. SGS is a leading world-wide testing, inspection and certification company. This role involves performing inspections on pressure equipment to ensure compliance with UK regulations and European directives.
Responsibilities
* Conduct inspections on pressure containment equipment in line with relevant UK and European legislation.
* Fulfil duties of an Inspector.
* Work independently and safely in the field, supporting clients with timely and accurate inspections.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
* Technical background in mechanical engineering or hands-on experience in field inspections.
* Proficiency in IT systems, particularly MS Office.
* Ability to work autonomously, adapt quickly, and manage changing priorities.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with pressure and mechanical equipment.
* Knowledge of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (ADR) or related industry experience.
Experience Required
* Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
* Demonstrable success in fulfilling customer requirements.
* Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
* Technical report writing or documentation.
* On-site inspection work within the UK.
Qualifications
* Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A-C including Maths and English.
* Essential: A-Levels (or equivalent) or relevant occupational qualifications.
* Essential: Full and valid Driving Licence to use in the UK.
* Essential: Certification in Confined Spaces (to have or undertake).
* Desirable: Formal engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar).
