An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about procurement, supplier management, and driving cost efficiencies.
Your new role
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in maintaining production schedules and ensuring the uninterrupted supply ofponents and materials. You will be responsible for negotiatingpetitive acquisition costs while upholding high standards of quality and delivery performance. The successful candidate will also be instrumental in identifying and onboarding new suppliers, managing existing supplier relationships, and contributing to strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key responsibilities include running MRP systems, drafting purchasing contracts, authorising supplier invoices, and supporting stock control and purchase order processes. You will also be expected to monitor market trends, lead supplier review meetings, and support cross-functional teams in resolving supply chain queries.
What you'll need to succeed
I am looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. A practical understanding of MRP/ERP systems is essential, along with strong negotiation andmunication skills. The ability to analyse data, solve problems, and influence stakeholders is key to success in this position.
The ideal candidate will bemercially aware, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems. You will hold a full driving licence and be within amutable distance of Halifax.
