Overview
The Cowal and Bute Pharmacy Team in NHS Highland is looking for enthusiastic, self- motivated pharmacists to develop and deliver the pharmacotherapy service in general practice. This role is suitable for newly qualified pharmacists, those keen to move to primary care, or those looking to continue their development as a primary-care pharmacist.
Responsibilities
* Work to deliver all levels of the pharmacotherapy service to GP surgeries in your locality as an independent clinical pharmacist, providing patient care via telephone and/or face-to-face consultations.
* Use good communication, organisational and IT skills, and commit to learning and development.
* Collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Support the NES Post-Registration Foundation Training programme or General Practice Clinical Pharmacist Framework as appropriate.
* Continue independent prescriber training if not already achieved.
* Travel to a number of locations; a full, current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential.
Qualifications & Experience
* Newly qualified pharmacists or pharmacists with experience in a primary-care setting.
* Good communication, organisational, and IT skills.
* Commitment to learning and development.

* Effective from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours with a pro‑rata increase in hourly rate.

Additional Information
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
