Trainee Roller Shutter Engineer – Ampthill
Newstaff Employment is hiring a Trainee Roller Shutter Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing company based near Ampthill. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers while learning how to install, service, maintain, and repair roller shutter systems across the UK. Therefore, this is a fantastic opportunity for a practical and hard-working individual who wants to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term engineering career.
Location: Ampthill (Nationwide Travel Required)
Salary: £28, starting salary
OTE: £42,+ with overtime
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm

Key Responsibilities
1. Assist engineers with the installation and repair of roller shutter systems
2. Learn fault-finding, servicing, and maintenance techniques
3. Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
4. Load and unload equipment and materials
5. Complete job sheets and site paperwork accurately
6. Travel to customer sites across the UK
7. Deliver excellent customer service while on-site
8. Work closely with experienced engineers to develop your skills
9. Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
10. Practical and hands-on approach to work
11. Mechanically minded with a willingness to learn
12. Experience using basic hand and power tools
13. Reliable, punctual, and hard-working attitude
14. Good communication and teamwork skills
15. Comfortable travelling and staying away from home when required
16. Full UK driving licence required
17. Ability to travel nationwide
18. Must live within approximately 40 minutes of Ampthill
