Overview
Project manage the Woodland Trust elements of the DDL bid including liaising with internal and external staff and stakeholders, managing the budget and reporting back to the funders. Identify and secure ancient trees; increasing restoration and sustainable management of ancient woodlands; integrating trees into farms to deliver benefits for both the farm business and nature; providing advice and support for landowners both directly and through consultants; and managing relationships with partners and landowners to successfully deliver the funded project. Manage a network of volunteers to record and verify ancient and veteran trees across the project area on and off our estate. This includes running events, training and activities for a young people. Manage contractors and consultants to deliver landowner engagement, advice and support on the Woodland Trust's behalf, taking responsibility for ensuring quality of work and cost effectiveness. Advise and support landowners in sourcing funding for schemes and ensure that the funding mechanisms are appropriate to the scale and nature of the scheme. This role is mainly based in Dartmoor in South West England and will require the successful candidate to travel around the region. This role is a full time, fixed term contract until December 2029.
