We are seeking a temporary Underwriter to join a fast-paced and innovative finance business that’s been supporting small-to-medium-sized retailers with point-of-sale finance since 2009. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in helping consumers access finance quickly and responsibly — with decisions made in seconds thanks to the company’s cutting-edge technology.
In this role, you'll assess and process credit and fraud referrals from retail customers, ensuring all applications are reviewed thoroughly and fairly in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Please note: This role operates on a rota basis within the following hours:
* Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 8:00pm
* Saturday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
* Sunday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, which may include one Saturday and one Sunday per month (on separate weekends). When working a weekend day, you’ll receive a day off during the week to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
This is a 2–3 month temporary position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

* Validate applicant identity and assess affordability

What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Skills:
* Experience in insurance, mortgage, or consumer underwriting
* Strong credit assessment skills – ability to review credit reports, fraud indicators, and bank statements
* Understanding of the Consumer Credit Act and FCA regulations
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
