Chiltern Railways Ltd operates commuter and regional rail services from Marylebone to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and the West Midlands. We are looking for a dedicated Revenue Officer to ensure passengers hold valid tickets, reduce fare evasion, and deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working with Revenue Protection Officers to minimize fare evasion.
2. Maintaining professionalism at all times.
3. Collaborating with agencies like TOC staff, Security Officers, and British Transport Police during revenue operations.
4. Checking passengers' tickets on boarding and disembarking.
5. Handling ticket sales and collections as trained.
6. Issuing Penalty Fare notices and completing reports such as MG11 and Travel Incident Reports.
7. Assisting passengers with inquiries and train information.
8. Representing Carlisle Support Services with excellent customer service.
9. Attending court as a witness if required.
10. Providing empathetic support to vulnerable passengers.
11. Communicating effectively and reporting incidents accurately.
12. Managing conflicts and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
13. Maintaining confidentiality of all information.
14. Following accident and incident reporting procedures.
15. Fulfilling additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT and report software.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* GCSE level education or equivalent.
* Flexible working hours.
Safety Responsibilities:
* Adherence to Transport & Works Act (Alcohol and Drugs).
* Conducting safety and security checks.
* Following emergency procedures.
* Taking care of personal and others' safety.
* Compliance with policies on substance use and PPE standards.
Requirements:
* UK residency for at least 3 years.
* Legal eligibility to work full-time in the UK.
