An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the South Pembrokeshire Community Mental Health Team. The role will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership to develop mental health services for Hywel Dda UHB.

The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership as we look to develop our mental health services to meet the population needs of Hywel Dda UHB.

* Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
* Five community hospitals: Amman Valley & Llandovery (Carmarthenshire); Tregaron (Ceredigion); Tenby & South Pembrokeshire (Pembrokeshire).
* Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron & Cardigan (Ceredigion) and several other community settings.

Person specification
Essential
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT within 6 months of interview date.
* MRCPsych or FRCPsych or equivalent.
* Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills.
* Approved Clinician Status.
* Section 12 approved.
* Broad based experience in General Adult Psychiatry.
* Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent).
* Knowledge and participation in CPD.
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding its role.
* Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence.
* Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and junior doctors.
* Knowledge of the management and structure of the NHS.
Desirable
* Appropriate higher degree e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or equivalent.
* Experience of NHS.
* Wider experience, research and training in providing sub‑specialty service.
* Evidence of above average performance.
* Additional clinical qualification(s).
* Knowledge of risk management.
* Evidence of initiating, progressing and concluding research projects with publication.
* Research degree.
* 'Training the Trainers' experience.
* Orchestrating further teaching programmes in medical education.
