Medical Equipment Management Services (MEMS) – Technician
We are seeking a motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills to join our dedicated MEMS team. If you are passionate about supporting healthcare through technology and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, this could be the role for you.
MEMS provides comprehensive medical equipment management services across Basildon, Southend, Broomfield, and other partner organisations. Our services include procurement, acceptance testing, maintenance and servicing, clinical staff training, and the safe decommissioning and disposal of equipment.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that clinical equipment operates effectively, safely, and with minimal downtime — enabling staff to deliver the best possible care to patients. The equipment you’ll be working with is diverse and complex, incorporating electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, and medical gas-based systems.

Responsibilities
* Provide support to electrical and electronic related medical equipment, including scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, repair, calibration and acceptance testing on a wide range of medical equipment within the electrical/electronic field.
* Promote understanding of medical equipment concepts within the Trust and support development and delivery of associated work programmes.
* Perform a range of technical duties guided by procedures involving autonomous work on both general and complex medical equipment in clinical (external organisations) and workshop environments, ensuring optimum effectiveness, reliability, availability and safety of medical devices, which may involve travelling across sites.
* Commission, calibrate, deploy and maintain a wide range of complex medical devices such as infusion devices, patient monitoring systems, defibrillators, and more.
