Job Description
Following its recent acquisition by SLR, Wardell Armstrong now forms part of a leading global environmental and sustainability consultancy working on projects across the world from over 100 offices. Due to business growth we have a new vacancy for an experienced EIA Consultant.
The EIA Team provide high quality support to a range of development types, including residential development, retail, storage and distribution, renewable energy, waste facilities, utilities and minerals.
Our EIA Co-ordinators are experts in their field and oversee and manage EIAs from a scheme’s conception to the post submission phase. Wardell Armstrong is also a registrant of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in our EIA services.
The role
Working as part of our Birmingham-based Environment and Planning team, you will be involved in the screening, scoping and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments, working with internal and external specialists and environmental stakeholders. In addition, you will be involved in the preparation and delivery of planning applications for a wide variety of infrastructure and development projects. You will help with the financial monitoring of projects and budget management, and assist in business development activities.
The position is a full-time position although part time applicants will be considered. We are open to various levels of experience from 2-8 yrs.

About you
As the successful applicant, you will hold a degree in an environmental discipline and ideally (although not essential) a second degree in Environmental Impact Assessment or Environmental Management.
You will be motivated and demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills. You will be prepared to be flexible and contribute to the work streams of multiple teams. You will also have a good knowledge of the UK planning system, the EIA Regulations, and experience of coordinating environmental assessments. Due to the nature of the work you may be required to travel throughout the UK.
