Field Sales Manager – Test & Measurement
Location: South West UK (Field-Based)
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Attractive, Uncapped Commission Structure

Role Overview – A High-Activity Revenue Driver
This is a front-line, territory-focused sales role managing approximately 250–350 revenue-significant SME accounts across the South West region.
You will develop new business, re-activate dormant customers, grow wallet share within existing accounts, and position the full suite of Test & Measurement, MRO, and value-added solutions. Your success will be measured on Revenue Growth, GP performance and structured activity KPIs.
This role suits a disciplined, energetic sales professional who thrives on field engagement and understands how to translate technical capability into commercial advantage.
Key Responsibilities
New Business & Lead Qualification
* Identify and qualify new regional sales leads
* Execute structured follow-up on supplier and marketing campaigns
* Convert opportunities across Test & Measurement, Platinum Suppliers and value-added solutions
Account Growth & Re-Activation
* Drive re-engagement campaigns targeting dormant accounts
* Develop and execute annualised account growth plans
* Deliver documented cost savings to strengthen retention and margin
Commercial & Operational Coordination
* Oversee order management processes (order entry, contract review, OTIF performance, returns, inventory coordination)
* Align with Procurement, Operations, Quality and Finance to protect profitability
* Monitor KPIs to identify service or margin gaps and implement corrective action
Customer Engagement
* Deliver structured, persuasive presentations (virtual and in-person)
* Conduct regular field visits across the South West territory
* Maintain full CRM discipline to ensure 360° account visibility
Technical Positioning
* Leverage strong Test & Measurement expertise to uncover application-driven opportunities
* Continuously develop product and market knowledge
Requirements
Experience
* 2+ years industrial sales experience
* 5+ years hands-on experience using Test & Measurement equipment
* Proven track record achieving revenue and GP targets
* Experience delivering documented cost savings
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or equivalent technical qualification
Core Competencies
* Strong client relationship management skills
* Commercially driven with structured sales methodology
* High activity levels and disciplined territory planning
* Excellent communication and presentation capability
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Full UK driving licence
Regular weekly travel across the South West UK is required.
