This role is within our Infrastructure business unit which is a civil engineering business focusing on small and medium scale works across the UK with expertise in Water, Environmental and Highways collaborative frameworks.
Reporting into Project Engineering Manager, you will have overall responsibility for working with our designer (Arcadis) and suppliers to successfully deliver all electrical requirements across a project portfolio whilst working with commercial team to procure all off and on site manufactured electrical requirements.
Responsibilities
* Support Thames Water’s Zero Incidents, Zero Harm, Zero Compromise goals. Ensure electrical installations comply with BS7671 and perform NICEIC Qualified Supervisor duties. Supervise electrical works and ensure health and safety, technical, and quality compliance.
* Improve productivity through robust electrical design, manufacturing, and installation processes. Monitor on site and off site progress to ensure delivery against programme and budget. Develop electrical works programmes aligned with the overall project plan
* Build strong relationships with Thames Water Operations and stakeholders. Deliver excellent customer service and support the company and Thames Water cultural vision, promoting collaboration and core values.
* Carry out factory inspections and quality audits. Maintain quality assurance plans and records. Monitor programme and cost performance and attend project production meetings.
* Coordinate electrical designs using BIM and ensure integration with civil and mechanical works. Review and approve supplier proposals and designs. Manage electrical subcontract packages, material orders, and supply chain capability.
* Apply sustainable construction knowledge and support digital engineering with Arcadis and the supply chain. Plan and deliver outages with Thames Water Operations, assist with commissioning activities, and support handover through O&M manuals and operational training.
Requirements
* To work as part of the Production Delivery Team.
* Directly supervise electrical suppliers throughout delivery.
* Display a high degree of technical knowledge and have relevant electrical project engineering experience within a manufacturing or construction organisation.
Essential
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of people.
* Must have an excellent knowledge of control panel design, cable sizing/calculations and instrumentation.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills who can multi-task and consistently meet challenging deadlines.
* Commercially astute.
* Has an appreciation of MMC, Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management, Production Thinking and other techniques that assure programme, cost and quality performance.
* Programme focused with an ability to plan and organise resources both off and on site to deliver on time and in full.
* IT literacy
* BIM/digital experience
