Bookkeeper

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to contribute to bookkeeping, accounting support, and general office administration.
This position provides exposure to financial processes, stakeholder interaction, and the opportunity to support business efficiency and decision-making.

The Role
You will take responsibility for supporting the organisation's financial record-keeping and administrative functions, ensuring accuracy, organisation, and efficiency across all processes.
* Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments using Xero
* Maintain and update invoices on a daily basis within Xero
* Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
* Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable balances
* Support payroll processes in collaboration with the external accountant, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
* Maintain organised digital filing systems using Dropbox
* Manage shipping documentation and update landing costs accordingly
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate data and insights
* Analyse expenses and revenues to identify trends and support business decision-making
* Manage correspondence and general administrative duties
* Support management with scheduling, meeting preparation, and coordination tasks
* Assist with the preparation of documents and reports as required
About You
* Experience in a bookkeeping, finance, or administrative role
* Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Confident managing multiple tasks and priorities
* Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
* Basic understanding of accounting principles, payroll, and financial processes
